Who Are We and Why Do We Do This?
Zeya&Co was founded by Hacettepe University Nuclear Energy Engineering 3rd year students Ali Şir Aydemir, Enes Yılmaz and History graduate İlayda Kuru. Our company was founded with the idea that jewelry should be produced with more sustainable and environmentally friendly methods around the world and aims to be the pioneer of this trend in Turkey. Our goal is to create timeless designs that are sustainable and accessible to everyone, and to minimize our carbon footprint in the process.
Why Produced Diamonds Instead of Mined Diamonds?
As it is known, CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) diamonds are luxury consumer products that are produced in a controlled manner in a laboratory environment and have much better color and clarity compared to natural diamonds. As Zeya&Co, our aim is to be transparent in all matters. The production process of mining diamonds causes great harm to nature, and since the sale of these diamonds is monopolized, they are sold at very high prices. Since diamonds are a luxury consumer product, whether they are set on 18 carat or 14 carat gold, they will cause you to lose money when sold back, even if they are natural. To explain why you should choose man-made diamonds with simple mathematics: When you buy a natural 1ct, E color, VS-1 clarity diamond, if you want to sell it back, you will lose 30-40% at best. The amount equivalent to this 30-40% loss can buy you a man-made ring of the same quality or even superior.
